The WOC kicked off this afternoon with the sprint distance event, on a tricky map at Olsztyn University. Everyone finished the two loop course without any mispunches and felt pretty good about our results. AJ made it onto the podium in 6th place but is confident he can improve during the week. Alex had  a crash but still did well (better than the person he hit!). All the girls finished close together, with Thor and Cath in the lead. Paul finished just in front of Alex, but both behind Chris Forne (NZ) who ran half of the course. Marquita Geldermann (NZ) finished a brilliant 4th in the women's race.

It was good to get through those first race jitters, and we're all looking forward to the middle distance race tomorrow.
