Of storks and Polish country roads

Sunday, 22 July 2007

Today I thought I'd skip the orienteering thing and head out along some of the small local roads.  Generally the land around here is a mixture of forest and fields.  Mostly forest in this part of the world.

The roads are nice and smooth and wind through lovely forest and villages.  Being Sunday morning it was pretty quiet.  Just the odd group or two heading into church.  It was a nice change from bumping around the forest to be able to cruise along and take in the country-side without looking at a map for a track junction.

And of course there's the storks.  It's really cool how they build their nests on chimneys and power poles.  This was one of a few chicks practicing flying in the stiff wind.
