Rest days
Thursday, 19 July 2007
Wednesday for us, and that means a rest day. Rest days are for, well, resting. So we did today. A relaxed breakfast, a gentle roll in the forest looking at yesterday's mistakes, lunch, rest, more rest, wander into town, dinner and then more resting. All at about 15 degrees cooler than yesterday. It's a tough job.... The nearest large town is Olsztyn, with a population of about 175,000 people. Like many European towns it seems a lot smaller when compared to a sprawling Aussie town. Olsztyn has a wonderful town centre and old town with beautiful buildings, cathedrals and castles. Like only European towns can, it positively bustles of an evening. People are out walking, chatting, eating, watching dance and music performances and generally enjoying the long, warm evenings. Of course we joined in the spirit of the town and sampled some of the local fare. Guess what was the favourite? Tomorrow is a middle distance race and another World Ranking Event. So the pace will be fast and furious. Perhaps with a little more care in finding track junctions too. Check out the gallery for latest photos
