MTBO Sprint - Euro Style!
Saturday, 7 July 2007
From "our man" in Pilsen, "Here’s a mind bending course for you. One secret. Don’t go any faster than you can navigate. This is the style of euro sprint courses. Lots and lots of check points. I’m not sure that we have terrains like this in Australia. Or not many of them we can access. This park is in pilsen and they pretty much closed it off. At every entrance to the park they had taped and signed for the public. Public were still allowed in but had to take care.
There were no problems I’m aware of.
I totally stuffed it up. Missed my start, settled in and rode respectably and then made a couple of mistakes. The technique is just have good flow and read the one you’re going to and know the one after. So you’re always one check point ahead of yourself. When you lose your flow you start losing time. For the sections I had good flow I was going ok. Then when I lost it, it was interesting to see the splits, a small error usually carried over to the next couple of check points in lost time."
